The Great Plains are known for their large expanse of grasslands and prairie. With this in mind one might think that growing pasture grass in a grassland would be a piece of cake. But don’t underestimate this climate. Hot summers contrasted by sub-zero winters are common, while high winds take their toll on all forms of life. We have formulated the perfect blend of grasses that will thrive in these conditions using little irrigation.
This blend produces a pasture that will contain approximately:
- 25% Orchardgrass
- 25% Tall Fescue (endophyte free)
- 25% Kentucky Bluegrass
- 15% Meadow Brome
- 10% Alfalfa
In an effort to help our customers visualize the finished product, note that the percentages listed above are what you can expect the stand to contain once established. For the contents of this seed blend by weight, please contact us to request a digital copy of the seed tag.
